SpinEdge Ltd. is an Israeli company, founded in 2022. The Company’s team consists of experts in spintronics, AI, advanced nanomanufacturing and high-tech business.
SpinEdge is aiming to revolutionize AI inference and Edge computing performance using spintronic technology – nanoelectronics based on the electrons’ spin (an intrinsic quantum property), developing an analog Spintronic-based AI accelerator for inference acceleration. SpinEdge's accelerator achieves x10 improvement in TOPS (Tera operations per second), and at least x50 in TOPS/W energy efficiency against today’s most advanced GPUs and AI accelerators.
The technology is especially beneficial for edge devices, having restrictions on power consumption, but still requiring strong data processing capabilities (like smart cameras, drones, autonomous cars, biochips, etc).
The SpinEdge spintech analog AI accelerator will be sold as a chiplet and is meant to be integrated with any existing processor, GPU, or AI chip, offering the ability to upgrade and perform complex AI calculations and analysis at a fraction of the cost and the power, and at a much higher speed.
Another advantage of SpinEdge’s tech is that it is non-volatile – the memory is not lost when the device is turned off, and there’s no delay when turned on again.
SpinEdge is a graduate of the INNOFENSE Innovation Center operated by iHLS (Israel Homeland Security) in collaboration with IMoD (Israel's Ministry of Defense). It is a unique acceleration program that removes entrance barriers to the technological ecosystem turning startups into mature, leading companies while connecting them with relevant investors, which is designed to strengthen the links between the civilian and defense markets via the collaborative development of the technologies, thus advancing and improving their integration in both markets.

New EU-funded project applies spintronics to the field of artificial intelligence
A new project called MultiSpin.AI was launched in February 2024 and will go on for a period of three years. The project has secured funding totaling more than three million euros from the EIC Pathfinder funding program.
MultiSpin.AI proposes to apply spintronics to the field of artificial intelligence. Processing units will be developed for electrical circuits based on magnetic tunnel junctions. This is a quantum phenomenon that allows electrons to behave in ways not foreseen in classical physics, being able to cross obstacles that, under ‘usual’ conditions, they would not have enough energy to overcome.
